      Masayasu Ishida is a Principal of global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo, and has specialized expertise in the industries of High-Tech, ICT and Aerospace. He is an acting member of the Japanese government’s committee on National Space Policy, and also acting as co-founder and president of SPACETIDE foundation which organizes a yearly space business conference aimed at promoting the rise of private space industry. Operating on a completely pro-bono basis, he has also been an invaluable member of Team HAKUTO, the sole Japanese team due to participate in the Google Lunar XPRIZE competition.

      Yuya Nakamura is the President and CEO of Axelspace Corporation. Axelspace is the Tokyo-based microsatellite startup co-founded by him and his colleagues in 2008, aiming for practical utilization of microsatellite technology. The company has so far developed three satellites including the world's first commercial microsatellite "WNISAT-1", developed for Weathernews, Inc. In 2015, Axelspace successfully raised JPY1.9B ($16M) from VCs and strategic business partners and announced the inauguration of AxelGlobe project, where 50 microsatellites will be launched to construct the whole-world and daily monitoring platform as a new-generation infrastructure.

He has a B.S. from the University of Tokyo (2001), a M.S. from the Graduate School of the University of Tokyo (2003), and a Master of Public Policy from the University of California, Los Angeles (2013). He is a Committee member of the "Committee of Space by ICT" by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication.

      Kenji Oda joined Dentsu after graduating Waseda University. He founded “Dentsu Space Lab” in 2016 after a successful record of Space-related work at Dentsu. His approach of “Space for Everyone” consists of combining creative ideas with high-end technologies to create fun and exciting experiences fostering interest in Space. His recent work includes innovative, award-winning solutions such as “Get a part-time job in Space” (an experiment where employees work in Space-like conditions), “kibo360” (a smartphone app simulating an astronaut life in the ISS) and “Space Hangout” (a Google/JAXA collaboration where people on earth can video chat with an astronaut in the ISS), and many others.

While promoting applying the L1 Multi GNSS RTK module of the company to automatic machine controls, working on development of the new GNSS receiver with centi-meter accuracy supporting QZSS which will be full-operated around 2018.       Born in 1969. PhD course in chemistry in Tokyo Institute of Technology was completed in 1998. After working as a researcher at an institute of a Japanese pharmaceutical company and a foreign-affiliated pharmaceutical company, I joined to oncology research in Novartis Pharma in Switzerland on 2005. In 2012, the title of Novartis Leading Scientist was given, and during 13 years my team have developed more than four drug candidates to clinical development, the first clinical compound was nominated as Breakthrough Therapy by the FDA and already on the market. I returned to Japan in 2014 and took a responsibility as VP and Head of Chemistry in PeptiDream Inc.

      Hidetaka Aoki is a venture partner in charge of investment activities in disruptive technologies at Global Brain. He is also an outside director of Axelspace and Space Business Evangelist, preaching about the possibilities of space business. He joined Global Brain from Dream Incubator where he developed strategies and consulted for the clients in high-tech industry. Prior to Dream Incubator, he developed "Kounotori (HTV)", Japan's first automated cargo spacecraft at Mitsubishi Electric and won a number of awards. He holds M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University and M.B.A. from Keio Business School.

      Takeshi Hakamada, an entrepreneur in the new space industry, is founder and CEO of ispace. inc. ispace is developing space robotics that will create and support daily existence in space by mapping valuable resources in space. He is also leading a Japanese team, HAKUTO, competing for Google Lunar XPRIZE, a robotic lunar surface mission traveling across the surface of the Moon while sending back to Earth specified images and other data. In January 2015, Hakuto won the Milestone Prize. He earned M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

      Saadia M. Pekkanen works on outer space security, governance, and policy. Her regional expertise is in the international relations of Japan/Asia. Her education includes Master’s degrees from Columbia University and Yale Law School, and a doctorate from Harvard University in political science. Her administrative responsibilities at the University of Washington include Associate Director of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, and Founding Director of the Jackson School Ph.D. Program. She holds the Job and Gertrud Tamaki Professorship. In addition to these appointments in the Jackson School, she is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Political Science, and Adjunct Professor at the School of Law. Among her half-dozen books, she is the author of Picking Winners? From Technology Catch-up to the Space Race in Japan (Stanford University Press, 2003); co-author of In Defense of Japan: From the Market to the Military in Space Policy (Stanford University Press, 2010); co-editor of The Oxford Handbook of the International Relations of Asia (Oxford University Press, 2014); and editor of Asian Designs: Governance in the Contemporary World Order (Cornell University Press, 2016).. In partnership with the president of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, she serves as co-Chair of the U.S. Japan Space Forum. She also directs the Space Security Initiative at the University of Washington. She is a contributor for Forbes on her space-related research themes. Her Forbes column is regularly included in the NSSI Space Weekly, an aggregated newsletter put out by the National Security Space Institute (NSSI) at Peterson Air Force Base that is distributed internally to 8,300+ members of the U.S. military, government, and defense partners worldwide.The Space Frontier Foundation estimated that her Forbes column on the Newspace 2016 conference generated 45,847,446 media impressions.

In addition to his wide expertise and network in European (New)Space, Rainer looks back on 20 years of experience in working with Asia-Pacific. Previously, Rainer was a Finance Director at Booz Allen Hamilton and the leader of its European space consulting practice. He holds double degrees from the European School of Business Reutlingen/London and a MBA from INSEAD.

He also serves as Special Advisor to Airbus Ventures, the Silicon Valley-headquartered $150 million fund for early stage investments financed by Airbus Group. His first job out of university was a four-year stint working as an engineering advisor to shipbuilder Nihon Kokan in Kawasaki Japan, today JFE Holdings. Formerly a senior consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Tokyo and a director and partner of Coopers & Lybrand in High Technology and Financial Institutions. Lewis earned his bachelor’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MSc at London School of Economics as a Fulbright Scholar, and a Juris Doctorate in International Public Law and Planetary Geophysics at the University of Hawaii, where he was a NASA Space Grant Fellow.

      In April of 1987, he joined Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (“MELCO”) and began his career as chief engineer for rendezvous and docking systems for Engineering Satellite-VII (ETS-VII) & H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) in Kamakura Works. Since that time, he has worked on various satellite projects including Earth Observation Satellites.
      From 2008, he was appointed general manager for the Office for Space Utilization and Strategy Planning at MELCO headquarters. He was responsible for promoting the utilization of space systems in various fields such as Quasi Zenith Satellite, Earth Observation Satellites and Communication Satellites. From April of 2015, he is currently Executive Fellow of the Electronic Systems Group at MELCO.

      Yuichi Yamaura is Vice President of JAXA responsible for strategic planning and management, international relations and industry collaboration, since 2014. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Yamaura was Associate Executive Director overseeing JAXA’s Lunar and Planetary Exploration, and International Space Station (ISS) Programs from 2011 to 2014. He served as Chairperson of the International Space Exploration Coordination Group (ISECG) from 2011 to 2012. Mr. Yamaura was Director of the Strategic Planning and Management Department from 2009 to 2011. Having joined JAXA (formerly the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA)) in 1978, Mr. Yamaura has been engaged in Program planning and management; Human spaceflight programs such as the ISS Program and Space Shuttle/Spacelab missions; and Earth observation program.
      Mr. Yamaura holds a Master and Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Tokyo.
      Mr. Yamaura has been Guest Professor at the University of Tsukuba since 2008, and was Lecturer at Graduate School of the University of Tokyo in 2009.
