Deputy Executive Director
Damrongrit Niammuad is a deputy executive director at Geo-informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA; the Thailand Space Agency) and leads the development and management of space capabilities in GISTDA. He is an accomplished space technologist who has made significant contributions and achieved his successful career in GISTDA.
Mr. Niammuad most recent role was a chairperson of executive committee, ASEAN Research and Training Center for Space Technology and Application (ARTSA) in 2018-2021 and later as a chairperson of ASEAN Sub-Committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA) in 2021. Moreover, he currently serves as a co-chair of Multi-GNSS Asia; an international organization which promotes multi GNSS in the Asia and Oceania regions and encourages GNSS service providers and user communities to develop new applications and businesses.
For a decade, he has focused on space technology and business-innovation to ensure a growing role of the private sector and how to advance them in global markets. As known as the enabler, he has encouraged space partnerships aiming for innovations impact to Thailand and ASEAN. His overseas space engagements included participation in the high-level discussions with the Japan, India, Korea, China, EU and U.S.
Damrongrit received B.Eng. in electrical engineering from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University, and M.Sc.Eng in Radio and Space Science from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden and Ph.D. degrees in industrial business administration from KMITL, Thailand.
