A French-Maltese lawyer and arbitrator, Rodolphe Ruffié-Farrugia specialises in international commercial arbitration, investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS), government negotiations, mediation, and public international law. His dispute prevention & resolution practice encompasses primarily Asia-Pacific.
Rodolphe represents individuals, companies, and states in high-stake cross-border disputes, projects, and transactions covering a wide range of industries and jurisdictions. In addition to energy, resources, and infrastructure, he has a specific focus on outer space activities. He is behind various initiatives in these industries and takes an active part in their legal development. Notably, Rodolphe advises the Iceland Space Agency on all international legal matters and is an advisor to the Space Court Foundation.
Rodolphe is admitted to practice in New York, Washington, Texas, the District of Columbia, Western Australia, and New Zealand and is also qualified in France. He holds master’s degrees in law from Paris Nanterre University, Paris-Saclay University, and Georgetown University. He also studied Japanese and Mandarin Chinese at the National Institute of Foreign Languages and Civilisations in Paris, France, and at National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohisung, Taiwan. He is regularly invited to speak at industry conferences and as a guest lecturer, including at Sorbonne University and the University of Western Australia.
