Akibi Tsukui is a fellow at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). Her primary focus is on conducting research and activities related to international frameworks, with a particular emphasis on the Paris Agreement and carbon market mechanisms. Leveraging her experience in serving as a member of the Japan delegation for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, she collaborates with space agencies and scientists to explore ways to utilise satellite monitoring data in international environmental policies and measures. She holds an M.Sc. in International Development from the University of Manchester.
