Kenji MINAMI

In 1994, he joined Japan Air Self Defense Force as an officer candidate. Since then, he has worked as a weapons controller at Western Air Defence Force Direction Center, Tactical Flighter trainning wing, and 5th Technical School. During this time, he completed US Air Force Theater Air Control Course (Tyndale AFB, Florida, USA). In 2005, he completed #52 Command and Staff Course. Since then, he has worked as a program manager for BMD systems at Defense Department of Air Defence command Headquarters and then Defense Department of Air Staff Office. From 2011 to 2013, he worked as Squadron commander at Northern Air Defense Force Direction Center. During this time, in 2011, he also served as Commander of the disaster relief unit for the Great East Japan Earthquake. He worked in the Defense Department of Air Staff Office since 2013, and then took Air War Course in 2015. From 2017, he returned to work at Air Staff Office. In 2021, he assumed the position of managing major programs in air domain as the Director of Air Staff Office’s 1st Force Structuring Division. In 2023, he moved to his current position managing programs related to space, cyber, and electromagnetic waves.
