Dr. Newton Campbell is a leading figure in computer science, AI, and space exploration. As Director of Space Programs at AROSE Consortium, he pioneers advancements in space technology and operations, leveraging his space expertise to strengthen the Australian space ecosystem.
Dr. Campbell’s career includes significant contributions as an AI subject matter expert at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and Langley Research Center. He led projects in urban air mobility, geomagnetism, space radiation, virtual reality, and high-performance computing. Prior to NASA, he spent a decade in research and development for the U.S. Department of Defense, primarily DARPA, leading cybersecurity, computational physics, and AI projects.
Dr. Campbell is committed to STEM outreach and is a member of prestigious organizations, including the Planetary Society, Cosmos Club, and IEEE. He holds advisory roles at the University of Colorado Boulder Law School, American University Washington College of Law, and the Atlantic Council, specializing in space, climate change, and ethical AI issues. His leadership is recognized in several leadership networks, including the Schusterman Foundation REALITY network and the Australian-American Leadership Dialogue.
