Sanjay Kumar

Sanjay Kumar is a geospatial industry advocate and social entrepreneur. He studied Political Science and International Relations with specialization in Geopolitics of Technology Transfer and Industrial Development. Sanjay founded Geospatial World –a socially driven company that envisions making a difference through space infrastructure and geospatial knowledge in world economy and society.
Geospatial World has been at the forefront of evangelism and advocacy of geospatial globally through its thought-leadership and business development events, media platforms, market research, and policy development.
Sanjay has been supporting several international organizations and professional bodies, and anchored the formation of Association of Geospatial Industries, World Geospatial Industry Council, UNGGIM Private Sector Network. He has served on boards of OGC, Radiant Earth, and US National Geospatial Advisory Committee.
Recognizing the critical role of unrestricted trade and commerce for the growth of geospatial industry, Sanjay recently founded Geospatial World Chamber of Commerce – a not-for-profit organization to support and facilitate international trade and commerce.
Sanjay also has a unique distinction of being the first and only recipient of Geospatial Industry Ambassador Award by United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management.
