Satoru Kurosu is the founder of the Space business of Yokogawa Electric Corporation. Until March 2019, he served as Director, Executive Vice President of Yokogawa. In April of the same year, he jumped into the Space business, prompted by studying abroad at the International Space University (ISU) Executive Space Course. He studied at the ISU again in 2020. In July 2021, he established the company’s first dedicated organization for Space business, “Space Business Development Office”. In April 2022, he expanded its technical development capabilities. He has been involved in businesses related to the International Space Station, satellite remote sensing, and lunar and planetary development. In April 2023, he passed the baton to the next leader and become the Executive Mentor. Also in the same month, leveraging his experience attending international sustainability meetings such as the United Nations as a Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), he established a new company, “Cross Space & Sustainability, LLC”, aiming to realize a prosperous and sustainable society by utilizing technologies and solutions born from Space development.
