Taichi Nakamura is now the Managing Director of Japan Manned Space Systems Corporation (JAMSS). His role covers post-ISS commercial LEO business as well as satellite utilization including agriculture, search & rescue, and national security fields. Prior to joining JAMSS, he served as the president and CEO of Japan Maintenance and Operation Services Corporation (JMOS), a ground system operation company.
In his engineering carrier, he contributed to the fundamental design of GN&C system for the rendezvous flight of HTV as the system manager at Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO). He also participated in the startup activities of satellite disaster monitoring at JAXA, which led to realize the series of ALOS programs. In 2016, he was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo for his study on disaster monitoring by satellite constellation.
