Yukimi Shimura

Joined at MUFG Bank from April 2020, Yukimi is taking a role as an inhouse consultant for MUFG Bank’s sustainability initiatives, including transition finance, carbon credit consideration and development of new innovative technology-related projects (e.g. hydrogen, ammonia, CCUS, circular economy, etc.), to assist customers in their journey to carbon neutrality. Nearly 20 years of experiences as a consultant for energy and environmental issues and ESG matters, Yukimi had worked with various project development contributing to GHG emissions reduction and sequestration with/without carbon credit generation benefits. She also has extensive experiences on carbon accounting and CDM and JCM project cycle, from new methodology development to credit issuance. She is also committee members of Japanese government committees. Prior to joining MUFG Bank, she worked for Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies and International Energy Agency.
