We are pleased to announce that on February 28, 2024, SPACETIDE (President: Masayasu Ishida) received the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award at the 6th Space Development and Utilization Grand Prize for the overall promotion of commercial space and the formation of an industrial ecosystem.

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award honors individuals and organizations that have made significant achievements in the space industry, and are intended to contribute to the advancement of outer space development and use, as well as fostering public awareness and understanding of space development and utilization. SPACETIDE is playing a leadership role in shaping the industrial ecosystem for space business and promoting sustainable space utilization. SPACETIDE was recognized for its efforts towards the formation of the Japanese space industry community, comprehensive research on the space industry, networking among entrepreneurs and companies and the mobility of human resources, thereby contributing to the promotion of space business and the formation of a space industry ecosystem.

In particular, the SPACETIDE Conference, Japan’s first international space business conference, is held annually and space industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and researchers from both domestic and international spheres and from a variety of industries converge to share deep insights into the latest trends, innovations, and market opportunities. The AXELA program, which supports space entrepreneurs, encourages the creation of new businesses and develops human resources to support the sustainable growth of the space industry.

Through these efforts, SPACETIDE has made significant contributions to the promotion of space business and the development of the industrial ecosystem. The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award is the result of the recognition of these achievements.
