SPACETIDE
Today, October 26th, marks the 8th anniversary of our inaugural International Space Business Conference “SPACETIDE”, which we launched on October 26, 2015. At that time, the term “space business” had not yet become widespread. Nevertheless, we managed to attract over 400 attendees from industry, academia, and government sectors, thus beginning the journey of SPACETIDE to this day.
On this anniversary, we are thrilled to announce the 9th International Space Business Conference “SPACETIDE2024” to be held in Tokyo from July 8th (Mon) to July 10th (Wed), 2024. The “SPACETIDE2023” event we held this past July, themed “The Rise of Space Economy”, saw participation from over 1,200 individuals spanning 20 countries and 20 industries. As the space business continues to grow, we aspire to deliver an even more evolved SPACETIDE next year.
Following “SPACETIDE2024”, from July 11th (Thu) to July 12th (Fri) 2024, the non-profit organization Secure World Foundation and Japan’s Cabinet Office will host the “Summit for Space Sustainability 2024” in Tokyo. This event focuses on the sustainability of space utilization and next year will mark its inaugural hosting in Asia. SPACETIDE, as a strategic partner, is committed to supporting the success of this event. In conjunction with our own “SPACETIDE2024”, we aim to create a week in Tokyo where top leaders in space business from both domestic and international spheres converge.

SPACETIDE Foundation will hold its 7th annual space business conference, SPACETIDE 2022, for 3 days from Tue. July 19 to Thu. July 21, 2022 (JST).
Since 2015, our main conference, SPACETIDE, has functioned as a platform for entrepreneurs, investors, engineers, designers, researchers, and other related organizations, such as space ventures, major aerospace companies, cross-industrial companies, and government agencies.
The theme of our 7th annual conference, SPACETIDE 2022, is ‘New Value Creation.’ In our previous conference, under the concept of “The Evolution of Commercial SPACE,” we discussed the advancements at the forefront of the space industry. The space industry has accelerated toward its commercialization, attracting attention for its visionary nature and innovative technology. Moreover, as the space industry matures, this industry is now creating new values for the world and society.
On the first day ‘Space-Enabled World’, we will discuss new value creation stemming from the satellite business from the customer’s point of view.
On the subsequent two days ‘Main Conference’, the global leaders of space business will discuss values created by each field of the space industry.

Results of SPACETIDE 2021 Winter in NihonbashiOur latest conference, SPACE TIDE 2021 Winter in Nihonbashi, which is one of the largest space business conferences in Asia, was successfully completed from Monday, December 13th to Thursday, December 16th, 2021.
The concept of the 6th conference, SPACETIDE 2021 Winter in Nihonbashi, continued from the one of the previous conference in March 2021, “THE EVOLUTION OF COMMERCIAL SPACE”.
78 industry leaders from all over the world such as Japan, the United States, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, discussed the forefront of the space business that has made great progress in 2021 towards commercialization, such as commercial space travel and communication satellite constellations.
In total, more than 750 participants came to the venue (220 people) and joined virtually (530 people). We believe that many people could experience the forefront of space business in Japan and overseas.
In addition, we would like to provide some graphical recordings of panel discussions and pitches. We hope you enjoy them!

On Wednesday, November 4, SPACETIDE held an online briefing session for “COMPASS vol. 3”.
COMPASS is an industry report that aims to deepen understanding and interest in the space business, and to make use of the information.
The Gold Sponsors of SPACETIDE 2019 and 2020 were invited to the briefing session, and the members who wrote the report talked directly about the outline of COMPASS Vol. 3, points of interest, and space business trends in various countries.
In addition, Mr. Mizushima, Director of SPACETIDE, introduced “The Latest Trend of Space Law and Space Business”, which he also contributed to COMPASS Vol.3.
